Combine a night out with a bit of London history by going for drinks or a meal at Dirty Dick's. This pub is housed in an early 18th-century three-floor renovated warehouse that once belonged to an infamous local merchant.

Dirty Dick's is all wood and quite dark, but atmospheric. It's not hard to imagine Dirty Dick's ghost wandering through the building after closing time. The food they serve here would have gone down well in bygone days, too, as many of the dishes are traditional British cuisine, even if they've put a more modern twist on them. They make some great vegetarian variations, too, so when it's chilly outside, and you fancy tucking into a puy lentil shepherd's pie, you know where to go.

The Queen of Hoxton

If simply looking down on London from a height while sipping a drink will suffice, then you need to head to The Queen of Hoxton. This is a laid-back venue with a huge rooftop terrace where you don't need to be dressed to the nines to get admission.

The rooftop is open all year and conditioned to be comfortable in winter with a yurt-style covering and fire pits. They even have marshmallows you can toast in the flames, but whether they taste good when washed down with a Snowstorm cocktail is something you'll have to discover for yourself.

Junkyard Golf Club

You won't be teeing off and watching a tiny white ball whizz across pristine greens in the dark at this golf club, as it's indoor and entirely different. The Junkyard Golf Club is an indoor crazy golf club with four different courses.

While the courses vary, they have one thing in common, and that's blazing neon light wherever you look. The Junkyard Golf Club wouldn't look out of place in Las Vegas, so if you have sensitive eyes and are averse to bright lights, take some sunglasses. There's loud music and lots of fun cocktails like Bubble Gum Sunset and Circus Cooler to take your mind off losing if you're no good at putting.

Hijingo Bingo

If you loved the flashing lights of the Junkyard Golf Club, you won't have far to go to get another neon fix. Right next door to the golf club is Hijingo Bingo, which probably outshines its neighbor by quite a few flashing light strips.

Hijingo Bingo is bingo at its best. It's loud, bright, brash, and on occasion, totally bonkers. Here the games are interspersed with multi-sensory light shows that are pretty mind-boggling. Even if you don't win, you'll have a fun time.

Enigma Quest Escape Rooms

There are escape rooms, and then there are Enigma Quest escape rooms. The Enigma Quest escape rooms aren't all about getting out of the room as fast as you can by solving clues. Here you have to complete various testing tasks to achieve your mission before you're set free.

At Enigma Quest, you can immerse yourself in the role of a wizard, an astronaut, a bank robber, and a submarine commando. None of the challenges are easy, but completing them is pretty rewarding, and if you can do it in under 60 minutes, even better.

The Sky Garden

When you don't want to spend your night among the madness and mayhem of neon, then check out the Sky Garden. The Sky Garden is an oasis of tranquility compared to most other things to do near Liverpool Street Station.

The Sky Garden is a free-to-access garden on top of the Fenchurch Building that's like a sky-high conservatory. Plants aside, it has some of the best views of London and the River Thames that you could hope to see, and that goes for nighttime too.

The Sky Garden stays open until midnight, and while it's free to get in, it's a good idea to pre-book your free ticket before you go, as only a certain number of people are allowed in at any one time.
